Immich
Description
Immich is a high-performance, open-source photo and video management solution, and a self-hostable alternative to Google Photos and iCloud Photos. It replicates the hosted experience closely — automatic background backup from phones, a chronological timeline, face recognition, and AI-powered search — while every photo stays on a server you control. Native iOS and Android apps and a fast web UI make it practical as a daily driver for large libraries.
Features
- Automatic mobile backup: Background upload from iOS and Android, including in the background and over selected networks.
- Fast library browsing: Virtualized timeline that stays smooth across hundreds of thousands of assets.
- Smart search: Natural-language search, object and scene recognition, and location data.
- Face recognition: Groups people automatically; name them once and search by person.
- Albums and sharing: Shared albums, partner sharing, external libraries, and public links.
- Multi-user: Per-user accounts, quotas, and role-based administration.
