Privacy-first knowledge management platform with linked notes

Overview

Description

Logseq is a privacy-first, open-source platform for knowledge management built around linked outlines instead of folders and files. Notes connect through bidirectional links and block references, with all data stored as local plain-text Markdown or Org files you fully control.

Features

  • Bidirectional Linking: Connects notes automatically through [[page links]] and backlinks.
  • Outliner Structure: Organizes every note as nested, collapsible blocks rather than flat documents.
  • Local-First Storage: Saves everything as plain Markdown or Org-mode files on your own disk.
  • Graph View: Visualizes the connections between all your notes as an interactive graph.
  • Queries & Journals: Runs live queries over your notes and auto-creates a daily journal page.
  • Plugin Ecosystem: Extends functionality through a community plugin marketplace.

Technology Stack

Built in ClojureScript on top of Electron for desktop and a web/mobile client. Stores notes as local Markdown/Org files, with optional end-to-end encrypted sync.

Requirements

Windows, macOS, or Linux desktop, or iOS/Android mobile; local file storage for your notes graph; no server required for local-only use; optional sync service for multi-device access.
